Access down to Sir Robert Hut

(The above photo is from the top of Homeward Ridge Hut looking down into Sir Robert Creek. The route drops East down a side spur from the 1440m contour line of the Ridge, leaves the side spur around the 1250m mark, and drops down a gulley into the lower portion of the access Creek. The approximate location of the Hut is marked. The photo below gives an idea of the steepness of the top of the route. The photos were taken in October. Hopefully by summer the faces would be a snow-free tussock scramble. Photos Andrew Buglass 2010)
